Oh yes. Ghee and I are now well acquainted. In fact, we’re on very good terms. After a bunch of time wasted trying to find Ghee in a market close to home and coming up empty, I made some from scratch. I was a bit intimidated at the attempt, but Ghee turned out to be very easy going. My kind of pal food. So don’t be afraid to try making Ghee! I found the recipe via google where there are many, (all pretty much the same) so you can’t go wrong. My only advice would be to stay with it as it cooks, stir stir stir, keep up with the froth, and no multi tasking. Just getter done. It’s worth it. Here’s a pic of Ghee all finished and ready to meet Dal.

And here’s a picture of Lal Dal made completely from scratch, using vegetables and herbs straight from my garden.

Serve hot with cold beer in stemless wine glasses, (why? I don’t know, it just seemed so right) and cool, spicy Raita (which I also made with cucumbers from our garden) and you’re good to go. It was spicy hot and mouth watering delicious! I found the recipe on GirlsGoneChild. The mother (aka WWW) of the woman who runs the blog, guest posts a section called Eat Well. She is such an inspiration! As is the whole family, really. WWW got the recipe from:

This is the last weekend for AWOL Gallery’s 9th Annual Square Foot Show. If you haven’t been yet, hurry hurry! I love this year’s venue for it, Twist Gallery. It’s so open and airy and bright, really shows off the 1200 pieces of art wonderfully. I took a bunch of photos of my faves which I plan to post on my Facebook Page as soon as I have time to ensure I have all of the artists names for the corresponding pieces. I was in a bit of a rush when taking the photos. In the meantime, here’s one I took of the east wall…

I have decided to use my blog for blogging more than my art. There is creativity, beauty and inspiration in so much around me that I can’t help myself. Plus, this will feed my love for writing and sharing.
Please meet my Sammich, Mr. Toasted Tomato with fresh basil leaves, cucumber and cracked pepper on whole grain loaf, all compliments (save for the loaf) of my backyard garden. Big deal, you might say. And you would be right. Mr. Toasted Tomato is a big deal because I live in smog city and despite that, my garden grows the most delicious vegetables and herbs I have ever in my life tasted. Mr. Toasted Tomato’s cucumbers alone are the crispiest cucumbers on the planet and they have an incredible, distinct flavour about them that I have never known in the cucumbers of my past. I love Mr. Toasted Tomato so very much that I wish to become the inventor of technology that would allow me to send you a replica of him right through your computer screen. I will get back to you on that. In the meantime, please enjoy the photo of him.

Top of the morning to you! Here is a little clip of a large new painting in the works. I think foxes are the new birds. And foxes make me think of autumn and I love autumn colours, so there you go. Thanks for having a look!
